About The Role
As an Insert Operator II, you will play a critical role in the production process by operating and maintaining machinery used to insert materials into envelopes, packages, or other containers. You will ensure the accurate and efficient insertion of materials according to job specifications and quality standards. This position requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.

Insert Operator II
About The Role
As an Insert Operator II, you will play a critical role in the production process by operating and maintaining machinery used to insert materials into envelopes, packages, or other containers. You will ensure the accurate and efficient insertion of materials according to job specifications and quality standards. This position requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor automated inserters and related equipment to insert materials, such as letters, brochures, or promotional items, into envelopes or packages.
- Load materials, envelopes, and other supplies into the inserter machine, following job instructions and specifications.
- Adjust machine settings, such as speed, size, and alignment, to ensure accurate insertion and proper functioning of the equipment.
- Monitor production output and quality, performing visual inspections and conducting periodic checks to detect and resolve issues or malfunctions.
- Troubleshoot equipment problems, perform minor repairs or adjustments, and escalate complex issues to maintenance or technical support as needed.
- Maintain production records, logs, and reports, documenting production output, downtime, and any quality issues or deviations from job specifications.
- Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment, including the proper handling of equipment, materials, and hazardous substances.
- Collaborate with other team members, supervisors, and quality control personnel to coordinate workflow, resolve issues, and meet production targets and deadlines.
- Assist with routine maintenance tasks, cleaning, and lubrication of equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Participate in training programs and skill development activities to enhance technical knowledge, proficiency, and job performance.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or vocational training in a relevant field preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating inserters or similar production machinery in a manufacturing or printing environment.
- Proficiency in reading job instructions, blueprints, or technical manuals, and following written and verbal directions accurately.
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve equipment issues or malfunctions.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong attention to detail and quality, with the ability to perform repetitive tasks with precision and accuracy.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to stand for extended periods, lift and move heavy materials, and perform manual tasks as required.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and overtime, to meet production schedules and operational needs.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures for operating machinery and handling hazardous materials, with a commitment to workplace safety.
