Job Description

Visa Technology & Operations LLC, a Visa Inc. company, needs a Sr. Data Engineer (multiple openings) in Austin, TX to:

• Solve challenging business problems and build applications that provide an excellent user experience.
• Member of PSR development team focusing on design and building software solutions that leverage data to solve business problems.
• Design brand-new software solutions, and refactor existing functionality for performance and maintainability.
• Develop more efficient data driven solutions to customers.
• Perform analysis using data engineering skills and extensive data pipeline development experience.
• Lead hands-on data engineering activities including POCs, architecture, design, documentation, development and test of new data pipelines and feature data support for our ML/AI driven fraud detection platforms.
• Position reports to the Austin, Texas office and may allow for partial telecommuting.
  
  

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a data engineer-related occupation.
• Alternative, a Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
• Position requires experience gained through education and/or work experience in the following:
• Creating data driven business solutions and solving data problems using technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Kafka, Redis, and NoSQL.
• Writing complex/advanced SQL queries.
• Working in a Unix/Linux environment.
• Application development in Java, Python, or similar frameworks.
• Automation tools such as Jenkins, Artifactory, and Git.

Additional Information

Worksite: Austin, TX

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Travel Requirements: This position does not require travel.

Mental/Physical Requirements:This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is $114,754.00 USD to $171,800.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
