The range of starting pay for this role is $150,000 to $175,000 per year.

Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end firmware architecture and development processes for embedded systems optimized for precision energy measurement and control.
- Collaborate closely with electrical and optical engineers to design hardware interfaces, ensuring seamless integration with firmware and compliance with system-level requirements.
- Drive the implementation of advanced control systems and signal processing algorithms, ensuring high levels of accuracy and reliability in product performance.
- Decompose complex technical requirements into firmware specifications and development plans, leading cross-functional engagements to achieve targeted outcomes.
- Perform hands-on debugging, testing, and optimization of firmware, working within hardware-in-the-loop environments to ensure design objectives are met.
- Drive firmware integration reviews, ensuring technical excellence and alignment with manufacturing and customer-driven requirements.
- Develop manufacturing firmware codes and automated testing systems to streamline production processes and product validation efforts.
- Mentor and provide technical leadership to global firmware development teams, fostering collaboration and continuous innovation.

- Works in a standard office environment utilizing standard office equipment, engineering lab and in a manufacturing facility
- Familiarity with both bare-metal and light RTOS approaches to developing highly deterministic systems (critical for the type of sensor firmware we do)
- Proficiency in reading schematics and ability to drive digital portions of mixed-signal designs
- In-depth knowledge of control systems and signal processing techniques for embedded system optimizationcritical to enabling precision and performance.
- Familiarity with communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, CAN, Ethernet, USB, UART, and memory interfaces like DDR3/4.
- Advanced expertise in microcontroller, FPGA, or SoC-based architecture (e.g., Xilinx Zynq, ARM Cortex-M or similar platforms).
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in real-time embedded firmware development utilizing C/C .
- Experience in designing low-level drivers and firmware solutions for applications integrating optics, photonics, or photoelectronic with energy measurement hardware.
- A proven track record of troubleshooting and optimizing embedded firmware for diverse and challenging industrial applications.
- B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent discipline emphasizing embedded firmware development, control systems, and signal processing.
