Job Overview
Monday - Friday / 8am-5pm
We are seeking a full-time General Cleaner with EMS expertise to join our dynamic team in Ann Arbor, MI 48103. This energetic role involves maintaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation across various facilities. You will be responsible for performing a wide range of cleaning duties using specialized equipment and adhering to safety protocols to ensure a safe, hygienic environment for all.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and disinfecting surfaces in commercial and educational settings
- Handle chemical agents safely following established chemical handling safety procedures
- Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers to maintain floor care standards
- Conduct custodial duties like trash removal, restroom sanitation, and surface sterilization
- Assist with facilities maintenance activities including minor repairs and upkeep as needed
- Follow safety protocols diligently during heavy lifting and manual handling tasks to prevent injuries
- Maintain detailed records of cleaning activities and report any safety concerns or maintenance issues promptly
Experience
- Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or institutional environments preferred
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and carpet extractors is advantageous
- Experience handling chemical agents safely and understanding sanitation standards required
- Knowledge of facilities maintenance practices including basic repairs and upkeep
- Strong customer service skills to interact professionally with staff and visitors
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and adhere to safety protocols at all times
