Staff Accountant
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Staff Accountant is responsible for assigned monthly and annual accounting functions, including account reconciliations, journal entries,
and month-end closings. This role ensures that all financial data is accurate, complete, and in compliance with generally accepted accounting
principles (GAAP). The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a multi-site/high growth environment where
accuracy and efficiency are essential. This role will directly report to the Accounting Manager.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform and review assigned reconciliations of assigned balance sheet and key operating accounts, including various prepaid and
accrual accounts.
Assist in the month-end and year-end close process, including preparing journal entries, accruals, and necessary adjustments.
Assist in maintaining the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded and supported.
Maintain fixed assets and effectively track construction-in-progress in collaboration with the Real Estate department.
Collaborate with internal and external sources to provide necessary documentation to calculate ASC 842 entries on a quarterly basis
Review and reconcile monthly intercompany charges.
Investigate and explain monthly variances for assigned locations and provide insight to management.
Support accounts payable and other integral accounting functions as needed.
Assist with annual audits and tax preparation, providing schedules and documentation as needed.
Maintain and update documentation of accounting procedures and controls.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reporting accuracy.
Qualifications
Must have experience processing in NetSuite/Tipalti/Ramp, as well as supporting multi-site, multi-state.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CPA-track preferred but not required).
3 years of progressive experience in accounting, including month-end close and reconciliations.
Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
Proficiency with accounting/ERP software and strong Excel skills (NetSuite experience preferred).
Experience With Multi-site Accounting Environments Strongly Preferred.
Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities.
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.
Team player that is willing to learn new tasks.
Must be capable of handling sensitive and confidential information.
Physical Requirements
The position requires occasional bending, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving items or materials of moderate
weight up to 30 pounds.
The ability to speak clearly, to hear and understand at a normal conversational level, and to receive detailed information through
verbal communication.
