Job Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Compile, review, and consolidate monthly financial statements and management reports.
- Support the General Ledger team during month-end close, including balance sheet reconciliations.
- Perform bank reconciliations and escalate variances or issues to the Financial Controller.
- Prepare and review journal entries such as payroll, cash activity, and intercompany transactions.
- Supervise accounts payable and receivable functions to ensure accuracy and on-time processing.
- Assist with internal and external audits, including year-end, governmental, state, and insurance audits.
- Establish, document, and improve accounting policies and procedures to promote consistent financial reporting.
- Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff through training and ongoing guidance.
- Communicate accounting standards, policies, and procedural updates to divisional teams.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls and compliance practices.
- Participate in ERP system implementations or conversions, including testing and user training.
- Provide analytical support, ad hoc reporting, and assistance with special projects as requested by management.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a closely related discipline.
- At least five years of experience in a senior accounting or accounting management role.
- Demonstrated experience preparing and reviewing financial statements.
- Strong background in general ledger accounting and month-end close processes.
- Prior experience in the construction industry (general contractor or subcontractor) is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of accuracy with the ability to review and validate both personal and team output.
- Strong organizational and time-management capabilities.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Familiarity with CMIC is highly desirable.
