1:1 Part-time Support Staff Need (Job #MG-JB)
A man that lives in Auburn is looking for a Direct Support Professional to assist him with community habilitation. He is an active 80 year old man living in his own apartment in Auburn, NY. He wants support with his morning routine that includes household tasks and preparing for his day. Services would likely occur only at his home but may occasionally be in the community. He enjoys puzzles, watching the news, football and church mass, occasionally going out for coffee, and socializing with others.
The ideal candidate has experience and is motivating, active and friendly. The ideal candidate should be reliable and easy going.
This is a part-time position but additional hours are available with other people receiving services at the agency.
Hours and days of work: 2 or 3 weekday afternoons. 2pm-5pm. Times will be flexible. Services will end when he is picked up for his other program.
Starting pay: Starting pay is $18.50/hour and increases with years of relevant experience
Location: Auburn, NY
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Ability to work independently in the person's home and/or community
- Reliable with effective communication and organizational skills
- No experience required though experience working with people with disabilities preferred
- New York State Driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance is required; acceptable driving record required
- Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community
