Self-Direction DSP - Oswego Area (Job #MA-BP)
A friendly and loving young girl in the Oswego area is looking for a Direct Support Professional to work with her while providing relief to her parents from her care. The ideal candidate is willing to participate in activities of the client's choosing both at home and in the community, such as playing with toys, playing outside, painting and drawing, dancing, swimming, and visiting the YMCA. The client can sometimes have emotional and verbal/physical outbursts, and she benefits from being redirected safely and appropriately.
The ideal candidate is patient, caring, punctual, and reliable, with effective communication and organization skills.
Hours and days of work: Thursdays and Fridays from 3:15pm-6:15pm
Starting pay: $19.00/hour
Location: Oswego, NY
Qualifications:
· Must be at least 18 years old
· Must have the ability to work independently in the person's home and community
· Must have a valid New York State Driver's license, reliable transportation, an acceptable driving record, and proof of auto insurance
· Must have the technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community
· Experience working with people with disabilities is preferred but not required
Background check, fingerprinting and DMV record check will be conducted prior to hire by the non-profit agency.
