Excentia Human Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to provide Intensive Behavioral Health Services (IBHS) to children and families in home, school, and community settings. In this vital role, you’ll work under the supervision of a Behavior Consultant (BC) or Mobile Therapist (MT) to implement individualized treatment plans, support families, and help children build skills that promote independence and success.
What You’ll Do:
- Complete all required IBHS trainings in their entirety.
- Provide BHT services as directed by the BC or MT in home, school, and community settings.
- Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the BC or MT.
- Collect accurate data on behaviors through direct observation and monitor progress.
- Teach and reinforce specific behavioral skills outlined in treatment plans.
- Support the BC or MT in training families to implement treatment strategies.
- Work collaboratively with families, caregivers, and team members to support each child.
- Attend team meetings, weekly supervision, and training workshops as needed.
- Maintain confidential, timely, and professional documentation and client records.
- Follow all IBHS and Excentia Human Services policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What We’re Looking For:
Candidates must meet at least one of the following IBHS BHT requirements:
- Certification as a BCaBA, RBT, or BCAT; or
- A behavioral health or behavior analysis certification from an NCCA- or ANSI-accredited organization; or
- High school diploma or equivalent plus completion of a 40-hour RBT Task List training (with BCBA/BCaBA trainer documented); or
- Minimum of 2 years of experience providing behavioral health services.
Additionally, we’re looking for:
- High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree in special education, psychology, or related field preferred.
- Experience working with children with behavioral concerns and developmental disabilities preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with children, families, and team members.
- Ability to collect data, follow treatment plans, and collaborate in a team environment.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, sit on the floor, bend, kneel, and lift up to 25 lbs as needed.
- Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and reliable transportation.
- Compliance with Pennsylvania Child Protective Services Act (Act 33) and FBI clearances.
- A genuine passion for working with children with disabilities and their families.
