What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ultrasound Technologist position at Excelsior Springs City Hospital?
Responsibilities:
- Performs accurate, efficient, and safe exams by using appropriate procedures and techniques.
- Uses appropriate protocols when positioning and transferring patients. Use assistance and appropriate equipment as needed.
- Prepares all materials and equipment appropriate for procedures.
- Practices sterile techniques, preventing cross-contamination.
- Plans work detail to meet daily work schedule consistently within scheduled shift. Prioritizes and completes essential job functions first and plans for completion of secondary duties.
- Ensures continuous high quality Ultrasound testing and treatment of all patients by using the proper gain, depth, and resolution settings.
- Technologists ensure standard of care follows federal, state, local and other accrediting agencies.
- Follows instructions reliably; utilize supplies and equipment in cost efficient manner and supports changes.
- Work under minimal supervision and cooperate with other team members.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- RDMS/ARRT registered or eligible.
- RVT registered.
- Maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association or preapproved provider.
Position Summary:
Performs sonographic procedures at technical level not requiring constant supervision. Performs a variety of technical procedures with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ultrasound protocols assisting healthcare provider’s treatment plan. In addition, has a responsibility for radiographic procedures when needed.
