What are the responsibilities and job description for the Rehab Technician position at Excelsior Springs City Hospital?
Responsibilities:
- Will assist in the preparation of patient’s treatment and handle the clerical tasks for the department.
- The technician will transport patients to and from the Rehabilitation department as needed.
- Performs tasks outlined by the Director, Therapists, or Assistants.
- Schedules and reschedules patient treatments and evaluations.
- Instructs and assists new employees, coworkers, agency staff with paperwork, billing, procedures, etc.
- Completes assigned performance improvement duties and special projects.
- Assists therapy staff with patient treatments on an as needed basis.
- Completes equipment cleaning and maintenance and keeps logs up to date.
- Monitor’s temperature of modalities and keeps log up to date.
- Maintains all modality mediums at standard level of product.
- Correctly maintains client files and records.
- Correct and timely input patient charges.
- Communicates with doctors, therapists, and payer sources as needed.
- Verifies insurance for therapy coverage accurately and timely as needed.
- Appropriately documents authorization information such as call representative’s name, call reference number, exclusions, and limitations.
- Tracks insurance authorizations and helps to manage insurance paperwork.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Prefer C.N.A. or M.A. certification or other education in a rehabilitation related field of study.
- Prefer previous clerical and/or rehab aide experience.
- 1 years of experience in a clerical or administrative role.
