Unit Clerk/CNA

Facility: Charlotte Bay Rehabilitation and Care Center

Position: Unit Clerk

Location: Port Charlotte, Florida

Position Type: Full-Time

Shift: 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday

Pay Rate: Up to $22.50 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver new admission charts to the unit and prepare forms for admission.
• Fax physicians’ orders daily in the morning, from the previous shifts.
• Deliver faxed printouts to the appropriate departments.
• Complete daily transfer of vital signs and weights from the assignment sheet to the resident’s chart.
• Check and restock the supply drawer at the nurses’ station.
• Maintain a neat and orderly nurses’ station.
• Screen all incoming phone calls for nursing and forward messages as necessary.
• Schedule physician appointments for residents and relay information to nursing staff.
• Initiate phone calls to physicians, family members, or personnel as required.
• Type documents as directed by Nursing Administration.
• Schedule professional agency personnel under the direction of the Director of Nursing Services (DNS) and serve as the contact for the agency.
• Notify the Food Service Department of any dietary changes.
• Maintain an up-to-date bathing schedule on the bath record for nurse aides.
• Greet visitors, guests, and residents, providing information and directions per company policies.
• Ensure residents and families receive the highest quality service in a caring and compassionate environment.
• Order medical supplies under the direction of the DNS.
• Fill medical supply requests in the planned absence of the Central Supply Clerk.
  
  
  

Requirements:

• Active CNA license/certification required
• Proficient in computer systems, office equipment, and system applications
• Ability to make independent decisions when necessary
• Willingness to explore and integrate new methods into nursing practices
