Responsibilities
- Assist the Occupational Therapist in implementing individualized treatment plans designed to improve residents' functional abilities and independence.
- Guide residents through therapeutic exercises and activities of daily living (ADLs) to promote recovery and maximize independence.
- Monitor resident progress and accurately document treatments and responses in accordance with facility policies and regulatory requirements.
- Communicate effectively with Occupational Therapists, nursing staff, physicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.
- Ensure resident safety during therapy sessions while following all infection control and safety guidelines.
- Maintain confidentiality of resident information in compliance with HIPAA and facility policies.
- Foster a positive, encouraging environment that supports residents throughout their rehabilitation journey.
- Current Florida Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) License required.
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
