Registered Dental Hygienist

Job Description

Our company provides onsite dentistry to residents in long-term care nursing facilities throughout the state of Ohio. Marquis Mobile Dental Services is seeking a traveling Registered Dental Hygienist to join our Ohio team!

Applicants should be comfortable traveling and prefer the relative autonomy this position provides. Self-directed, compassionate individuals will thrive in this position.

Travel Distance:

• Throughout the state of Ohio

Schedule:

• Five (5) days a week

Responsibilities and Duties Include (But are not limited to):

• Take all reasonable methods to ensure patient comfort
• Provide dental health education about tooth care and diet
• Offer advice and encouragement to patients
• Remove plaque and calculus by scaling and polishing teeth
• Treat and help prevent gingivitis and periodontitis
• Take dental radiographs of teeth as required
• Apply prophylactic/antibacterial materials, fissure sealants and topical fluorides to help prevent tooth decay
• Carry out screening and monitoring procedures
• Use a range of different dental instruments
• Ensure that sterile conditions are maintained
• Clean and sterilize all equipment and working surfaces to the required standards at the end of each session
• Follow health and safety guidelines in all aspects including when taking x-rays, disposing of sharp and clinical waste, resuscitation, and emergency procedures
• Obey all dental ethical guidelines including all rules on confidentiality and Data Protection
• Report equipment failures or breakages to the principle or practice manager, so that action may be taken to remedy any defects
• Follow all practice policies and procedures

Qualifications and Skills

• A desire to work with the geriatric population on a daily basis, including a strong understanding of the dental and oral care required relating to this demographic
• Exceptional interpersonal verbal communication skills
• Friendly and outgoing demeanor
• Ability to build rapport with patients
• Knowledge of dentistry and dental terminology
• Computer proficiency and the ability to learn new programs
• Ability to acquire malpractice insurance - reimbursed by the company
• Licensed in the state of Ohio
