Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in locating products or services
- Operate POS systems accurately for sales transactions, returns, and exchanges
- Conduct product demos to educate customers about features and benefits
- Upsell complementary products to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales
- Manage merchandising displays, stock shelves, and ensure products are well-organized
- Handle cash handling duties with accuracy and maintain proper cash register procedures
- Maintain a clean and inviting store environment through stocking and merchandising
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly
- Assist with inventory management, including stock replenishment and inventory counts
- Demonstrate effective phone etiquette when communicating with customers or vendors
Experience
- Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic retail math concepts
- Supervising experience is a plus for leadership opportunities
- Ability to perform product demos and upselling techniques effectively
- Bilingual skills are highly desirable to serve a diverse clientele
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential
- Experience in grocery stores or similar retail environments is advantageous
- Knowledge of merchandising, stocking, and customer service best practices
