Excel is seeking an experienced PVC Leadman to join our team at the Westlake facility in Geismar, LA. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with railcar loading and railcar switching, along with the leadership skills to guide a crew and ensure safe, efficient operations.
Responsibilities:
- Lead daily PVC loading activities in compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Perform and oversee railcar loading and railcar switching operations.
- Coordinate workflow and communicate with site operations and logistics teams.
- Ensure proper documentation, inspections, and verification of railcar readiness.
- Troubleshoot operational issues and escalate when necessary.
- Safely load and unload PVC materials from delivery trucks and storage areas.
- Inspect incoming PVC materials for damages and report discrepancies to the supervisor.
- Organize and store PVC materials in designated warehouse locations.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using computerized systems.
- Ensure compliance with company safety guidelines and procedures at all times.
- Operate forklifts and other equipment to transport PVC materials within the facility.
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of the warehouse area.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment and report any issues promptly.
- Adhere to all company policies and regulations.
- Maintain a safe work environment and enforce company/site safety policies.
- Train and mentor crew members as needed.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- TWIC Card is required.
- Required: Experience with railcar loading and railcar switching
- Prior Leadman or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of industrial safety procedures
- Ability to work in outdoor and industrial environments
- Must pass all pre-employment screening
- Experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment preferred.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks in a warehouse setting.
- Ability to work on feet for prolonged hours, walking on unlevel ground
- Familiarity with operating forklifts and other equipment.
- Basic computer skills and experience with inventory management systems.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
Pay:
- Starting between $23-$25 per hour, depending on experience
