What are the responsibilities and job description for the Order Picker position at Excel Distribution LLC.?
Position Summary:
Responsible for filling store orders and moving finalized orders to the inspection platform in an accurate, productive, and efficient manner.
Primary tasks include the moving, arranging, lifting, and palletizing of storage boxes. Boxes range in weight from 24 lbs. to 50 lbs. The company also requires that all employees perform all tasks in a safe manner, including safety of others, consistent with corporate policies and state and federal laws.
Essential Job Functions:
• Follow picking sheet ensuring to pull out the correct items and correct quantities of merchandise
• Read labels, obtain merchandise from shelves, move boxes manually and process incoming orders
• Palletizing merchandise in an organized, clean, accurate and damage free manner
• Must be able to operate and move ladders, manual and/or electric pallet jacks and various other material handling aids
• Proactively takes actions to improve safety
• Shrink wrap pallets at ground level
Minimum Position Qualifications:
• Must be fluent in Spanish and English
• Basic math skills
• Familiarity with distribution center terms and processes
• Clear background check
• Minimum 18 years of age
Physical and Other Requirements:
• Able to repetitively lift and carry boxes weighing up to 50 lbs. for the duration of shift
• Must be capable of standing, walking, and squatting for extended periods of time
• Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment
• Ability to meet production standards
• Must be able to work weekends and overtime on a regular basis, including nights and holidays
