The Facility Operations Manager assists the Director of Facility Operations in providing leadership and direction for the operations and back-of-house teams in College Park Center and Texas Hall, ensuring the safety and quality of venue setups by coordinating, overseeing, and participating in facility changeovers. This position is responsible for participating with other managers in identifying, specifying, planning, and supervising venue setups and conversions, maintenance projects, and general housekeeping for events and venue operations. This role is responsible for hiring, training, scheduling, and reviewing time cards for part-time building operations crew. In cooperation with the Director of Facility Operations, assists in the planning of building conversions, maintenance and repair schedules, work order entry and tracking, as well as contracted housekeeping services.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, mentorship, training, and direction for the operations and building conversion team.
- Oversee and participate in venue changeovers, ensuring quality controls for setups, safety procedures are followed and setups adhere to life safety and fire codes.
- Assists the Director of Facility Operations in forecasting and tracking of building operations, custodial and building maintenance expenses.
- Develops and conducts safety and training programs for building operations crew, including proper techniques for setting up and using building equipment.
- Anticipates problems and appropriate solutions; investigates, analyzes, and resolves operational problems and complaints.
- Attends appropriate event planning and departmental meetings, and assists other departmental team members, as needed.
- Assists Director of Facility Operations as a secondary venue liaison with the WNBA Director of Security for crowd management planning and implementation of WNBA security policies.
- Serves as Manager on Duty for events on a rotational basis.
- Other duties as assigned
- High school diploma.
- Five (5) years of experience in facility operations within an arena, convention center, performing arts center, or similar venue.
- Two (2) years of supervisory experience.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Five (5) or more years of progressive experience within the hospitality/public assembly venue industry.
- Three (3) years in a supervisory capacity.
- Experience with NCAA Division I Athletics events; IAVM Venue Management School graduate; and industry-related training, such as IAVM’s Academy of Venue Safety and Security.
- Ability to complete all physical tasks as needed.
- A solid knowledge of the principles of administration as they relate to public assembly venues, services, and hospitality in arenas, performing arts centers, or entertainment venues.
- Familiar with local and national fire codes, life safety guidelines, OSHA regulations, and ADA regulations, as they relate to events and crowd management.
- Ability to complete all physical tasks as needed.
