Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team! The ideal candidate will have experience operating heavy equipment and machinery in a construction site setting. They will enjoy working in a small team environment and thrive in a leadership role.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain various types of heavy equipment such as excavators, skid steers, rollers, graders, etc.
- Perform tasks including hand digging, lifting, using power tools and transporting materials and equipment
- Ensure equipment is operated safely and efficiently
- Follow project plans and instructions from supervisors
- Conduct routine maintenance on equipment to ensure functionality
-Manage onsite inventory
-Must have good housekeeping on worksites
-Complete daily site logs
-Complete worksite safety trainings with team
Skills:
- Proficiency in operating a variety of heavy equipment machines, including excavators, skid steers, rollers and graders.
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor issues with equipment, vehicles and trailers.
- Experience in commercial driving and handling large vehicles a plus.
- Must have familiarity with construction site operations. Ability to read blueprints and use laser level
-Must have experience with utility trenching, compaction and checking grade.
-Ability to oversee and manage laborers to complete jobs to spec and in required time frames.
-Ability to motivate work production
-Load and unload heavy equipment from trailers
- Strong communication skills and can follow instructions accurately
