Field Service Technician

Position Summary
Exact Machine Service is seeking a Field Service Technician to join our Service team. Reporting to the Service & Installation Manager, this role is responsible for installing, commissioning, servicing, and troubleshooting high‑precision grinding equipment at customer sites. This position requires frequent travel and hands‑on customer interaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, integrate, and commission equipment and systems at customer locations.
- Perform comprehensive testing to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Demonstrate equipment operation and performance to customers.
- Respond quickly to critical equipment failures to minimize downtime.
- Diagnose technical issues and complete emergency repairs as needed.
- Train customers on proper equipment operation and maintenance.
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for assigned customers.
- Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams regarding service activity.
- Complete accurate service reports, including labor, parts used, and corrective actions.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 2 years of field service experience.
- Experience with precision cylindrical grinding equipment.
- Centerless and double‑disc grinding experience is a plus.
- Working knowledge of:
- CNC machines
- Servo drives and motors
- PLC systems (Allen Bradley, Fanuc, Siemens, or similar)
- Self‑motivated, dependable, and customer‑focused.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 75%.
