Job Summary
We are currently seeking skilled and team-oriented applicants for the following position: Administrative Assistant 2 within the Campus Police Department. This is a part time and benefit eligible position. This position will interact with a diverse clientele, both inside and outside of the university, including students, parents, faculty, staff and community members. The ideal candidate will be customer focused and work independently, be a team player, an excellent listener and communicator. This position is a representative of the university and our campus police and must maintain a professional, outgoing and helpful attitude and demeanor.

The salary for this position is $22,434 – $29,892, where the hired candidate will begin within this range is dependent on education, experience, and skills. This salary is based on 20 hours per week and is eligible for EWU’s comprehensive benefit package.
In addition to salary, the university offers a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, life and disability insurance and retirement. In addition, EWU offers generous vacation and sick leave accruals, 13 paid holidays per year and fringe benefits, such as tuition waiver for employees and eligible family members, discounted EWU sports tickets, full access to our campus workout facilities at a minimum fee and free transportation through STA buses. Required Qualifications
- HS Diploma or G.E.D
- Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with demonstrated ability to work well with, and be sensitive to, people from diverse backgrounds and people of all ages.
- Strong attention to detail as well as organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient using MS Office products.
- Must pass police department background investigation, including state and federal background checks.
- Demonstrated ability to apply a responsive and flexible approach that is supportive of the needs including universal access of our students, faculty, staff and the public
- Familiarization in law enforcement and police department operations.

- Answers telephones; receives and refers visitors; resolves problems and responds to inquiries regarding department procedures and services.
- Assists with Livescan fingerprint program.
- Assists with record retention, archiving and destructing per Washington State retention schedules.
- Supports lost and found program.
- Assists with website updates.
- Provides backup for the following: telephones; receiving and referring visitors; resolving problems and responding to inquiries regarding departmental procedures and services.
- Provides backup for reviewing, approving and merging case reports. Assists with creating and maintaining report case files.
- Performs related work as required.
Administrative Support
- Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records for Police Department equipment.
