The Environmental, Safety, Health (ESH) Senior Associate provides program ownership and regulatory support to management and operations teams across the Evonik Tippecanoe site. This role ensures operations comply with ESH regulations and company standards, serves as the primary contact for regulatory agencies, and oversees multiple ESH programs. The position contributes to improving departmental efficiency and the site’s overall compliance while supporting continuous operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own and manage multiple ESH regulatory programs, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Serve as the primary site contact and technical expert for assigned programs.
- Liaise with regulatory agencies, external customers, and contractors as needed.
- Lead program audits, inspections, and compliance assessments. · Develop and maintain program procedures, policies, training materials, and documentation.
- Provide training and guidance to site personnel on ESH requirements.
- Support incident investigations, change management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Production, QA/QC, Maintenance, Supply Chain) to ensure compliance and operational safety.
- Support ISO 14001/Responsible Care programs and departmental goals.
- Maintain cGMP compliance, product quality (SISPQ), and workplace safety standards.
REQUIREMENTS
- BS/MS in Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Safety, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in ESH or related functional area, preferably in manufacturing or pharmaceutical environments.
- Strong knowledge of applicable regulations
- Excellent technical, problem-solving, project management, and organizational skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills; able to work across all organizational levels.
- Ability to lead audits, inspections, and compliance assessments. · Proficiency in computer applications relevant to ESH program management.
- Ability to support 24/7 operations, including on-call availability.
- Occasional travel may be required.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
