As part of continued growth, they are seeking a Safety & Mission Assurance (SMA) Manager to lead quality, safety, reliability, and compliance activities across critical lunar exploration programs.

You will serve as a key technical authority across Quality, Safety, and Mission Assurance, ensuring complex aerospace systems are developed, tested, and delivered to the highest standards in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
This position will play a critical role supporting lunar vehicle programs designed for future NASA missions and human space exploration.

You will serve as a key technical authority across Quality, Safety, and Mission Assurance, ensuring complex aerospace systems are developed, tested, and delivered to the highest standards in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
This position will play a critical role supporting lunar vehicle programs designed for future NASA missions and human space exploration.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Safety & Mission Assurance activities across lunar vehicle and spaceflight programs
- Manage and maintain Quality Management Systems and compliance processes
- Develop and enforce quality, safety, and reliability policies aligned with aerospace and NASA standards
- Support audits, inspections, nonconformance tracking, corrective actions, and risk mitigation activities
- Oversee compliance with AS9100, ISO9001, FAR/DFARS, OSHA, and related regulatory standards
- Support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, operations, suppliers, and external partners
- Lead and mentor SMA personnel across multidisciplinary programs
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline
- 9 years of experience within aerospace, defense, NASA, or high-reliability industries
- Experience implementing or maintaining AS9100, ISO9001, or similar quality systems
- Strong background in audits, compliance, quality assurance, and risk management
- Ability to balance rigorous safety standards within fast-paced development environments
- Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills
- US Person status required
- Previous leadership experience managing SMA or quality teams
- Experience supporting spaceflight or human-rated programs
- Familiarity with CMMI Level 3 environments
- OSHA certification or operational safety experience
