Lead Launch Integration Engineer (Mechanical) | Spacecraft Launch Operations
An innovative space technology company developing next-generation global communications infrastructure is seeking a Lead Launch Integration Engineer to own spacecraft mechanical integration activities during launch campaigns.
This is a mission-critical role responsible for ensuring flight hardware and launch systems are mechanically ready for launch while serving as the primary on-site mechanical authority throughout campaign operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead spacecraft mechanical integration at launch sites
• Own launch adapter integration and interface verification
• Drive launch campaign planning, sequencing, and risk mitigation
• Lead MGSE design, qualification, and deployment
• Serve as primary technical authority during launch operations
• Coordinate with systems, test, manufacturing, and launch provider teams
• Approve procedures, integration workflows, and non-conformance dispositions
• Mentor engineers and technicians during critical operations
Requirements:
• 8 years in aerospace or high-reliability hardware environments
• Experience supporting spacecraft, payload, or launch integration
• Strong mechanical integration and hardware handling background
• Launch site or cleanroom experience preferred
• CAD proficiency (Inventor, Creo, SolidWorks, NX, CATIA)
• Strong understanding of aerospace standards and configuration control
