What You Can Expect In This Role
The Purchasing Manager is responsible for overseeing all purchasing and procurement activities across Evolve Transporters’ Indiana and Ohio facilities. This role partners closely with the Parts & Inventory Managers at each location to ensure materials, parts, and services are sourced efficiently, cost-effectively, and in alignment with production schedules and inventory strategies.
This role is focused on purchasing execution, vendor management, cost control, and cross-facility consistency, while operating within established inventory strategies and internal approval processes.

This role is focused on purchasing execution, vendor management, cost control, and cross-facility consistency, while operating within established inventory strategies and internal approval processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage purchasing activities for both Indiana and Ohio operations, ensuring consistency in purchasing practices across locations.
- Execute purchasing requests based on demand signals, forecasts, and priorities provided by Parts & Inventory Managers and leadership.
- Source materials, components, tools, and services required to support fabrication, operations, and facility needs.
- Obtain quotes, evaluate pricing and lead times, and place purchase orders in accordance with company policies and approvals.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and service providers.
- Monitor supplier performance related to cost, quality, and delivery; address issues and risks proactively.
- Ensure purchasing activity aligns with inventory strategies, minimum/maximum levels, and production schedules.
- Partner with accounting to ensure accurate purchasing documentation, approvals, and budget alignment.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings, supplier consolidation, and purchasing efficiencies across facilities.
- Support standardization of purchasing processes, documentation, and systems.
- Serve as the escalation point for urgent or time-sensitive purchasing needs.
- Maintain compliance with company policies, internal controls, and applicable regulations.
- Strong negotiation, vendor management, and purchasing execution skills
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities across locations
- Clear and professional communication with operations, inventory, accounting, and leadership teams
- Detail-oriented with strong follow-through and accountability
- Practical, solution-oriented mindset focused on cost control and operational support
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and purchasing and ERP systems
- Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments
- Ability to travel periodically between facilities, as needed
- High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field preferred
- 4 years of purchasing or procurement experience, preferably in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
- Experience working cross-functionally with inventory, operations, and accounting teams
- Familiarity with ERP, inventory, or purchasing management systems
- Experience supporting multi-site purchasing operations is a plus
Salary : $85,000
