What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales Development Representative for IT, AI and Cybersecurity position at Evolv I.T.?
About Evolv IT
Evolv IT is a managed IT services and cybersecurity firm that works exclusively with healthcare practices and financial services firms in the Southeast. We don’t do retail. We don’t do law firms. We don’t spread ourselves across every industry hoping something sticks. Our clients operate in heavily regulated environments — HIPAA, SOC 2, SEC, FINRA, GLBA — and they trust us to keep them compliant, protected, and running.
We’re growing, and we’re looking for a Sales Development Representative to help drive that growth by filling the pipeline with qualified, high-value appointments.
The Role
You will be the front end of our sales engine. Your job is to reach decision-makers at healthcare practices and financial firms, build relationships through genuine curiosity and professionalism, and book qualified meetings for our Director of Sales.
This is not a telemarketing job. You’re not reading a script to 200 random businesses a day. You’re working a curated list of prospects in regulated industries, asking smart questions, and earning meetings with people who have real problems worth solving.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Making 50–75 targeted outbound calls per day to healthcare and financial services prospects.
- Following up on inbound leads within 15 minutes during business hours.
- Executing multi-touch outbound cadences: phone, email, and LinkedIn.
- Qualifying prospects against specific criteria before booking appointments.
- Confirming appointments, preparing pre-meeting materials, and rescuing no-shows.
- Tracking all activity and results in our CRM (GoHighLevel) — religiously.
- Participating in daily check-ins and weekly pipeline reviews with the Director of Sales.
- Learning two industries deeply: how a healthcare practice thinks about IT is different from how an RIA thinks about compliance. You need to speak both languages.
What We’re Looking For
- Phone sales experience (minimum 1 year). Not “I’m good at talking to people.” Actual experience making outbound calls, handling rejection, and booking meetings. Call center, appointment setting, BDR, inside sales — something where the phone was your primary tool.
- Track record of hitting quota. We’ll ask for specifics. How many dials per day? What was your conversion rate? Where did you rank? If you can’t quantify your performance, that’s a red flag.
- Coachable and process-driven. We have scripts, cadences, and a playbook. We expect you to follow them, especially in the first 90 days. If you think scripts are beneath you or you “do better winging it,” this isn’t the right fit.
- Comfortable with technology. You’ll use a CRM, a dialer, prospecting platforms, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and email sequencing tools. You don’t need to be technical, but you can’t be afraid of software.
- Owns their results. If you’re hitting quota, celebrate it. If you’re not, own it and work with your manager to figure out why. We don’t tolerate blame-shifting or excuse-making.
- No drama. We have a zero-tolerance policy for gossip, politics, and negativity. Everyone in this building pulls in the same direction.
What You Get
- Competitive base salary plus a tiered bonus structure that rewards performance. Top performers earn significantly more than base.
- Clear expectations and a structured ramp period — you’ll know exactly what success looks like from Day 1.
- Training, scripts, and a proven playbook. We don’t throw you in the deep end without a life jacket.
- Daily coaching and weekly development with the Director of Sales.
- A defined career path. This role can lead to Account Executive, Account Manager, or sales leadership positions as Evolv grows.
- Health insurance and benefits.
- A company that is established, profitable, and growing — not a startup burning cash hoping to figure it out.
Bonus Points (Not Required)
- Experience selling into healthcare or financial services.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks (HIPAA, SOC 2, SEC, FINRA).
- Experience using CRM and prospecting tools.
- Experience in the MSP or IT services industry.
