Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid)
Salary: Up to $250,000 base bonus/equity (DOE)
The Role
We are partnered with a growing software company seeking an experienced Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead technology strategy, execution, and scaling. This is a high‑impact leadership role, reporting directly to the CEO, with ownership across architecture, engineering, product delivery, and technical vision.
The CTO will play a critical role in shaping the company’s long‑term technology roadmap while building and leading high‑performing engineering teams in a fast‑paced, commercial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and own the overall technology strategy aligned with business and product goals
- Lead, mentor, and scale the engineering organization (software, platform, infrastructure)
- Drive architectural decisions across cloud, data, security, and application platforms
- Partner closely with Product, Commercial, and Executive teams to deliver customer value
- Establish engineering best practices around scalability, reliability, security, and performance
- Oversee technology budgets, vendor selection, and build vs buy decisions
- Champion a strong engineering culture focused on quality, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Support hiring, retention, and development of senior technical leadership
Requirements
- Proven experience as a CTO, VP of Engineering, or senior technical leader in a software company
- Strong background in modern software architecture (cloud‑native, SaaS, APIs, data platforms)
- Experience scaling engineering teams and systems in high‑growth environments
- Hands‑on technical credibility with the ability to operate at both strategic and execution levels
- Strong understanding of security, compliance, and operational best practices
- Excellent communication skills and experience working closely with executive stakeholders

- Experience in SaaS, enterprise software, or data‑driven platforms
- Exposure to AI/ML, data platforms, or modern analytics stacks
