What are the responsibilities and job description for the Full-Time Drywall Manager / Specialist (Bilingual Required) position at Evolution Drywall and Remodeling?
Evolution Drywall & Remodeling
We’re looking to bring on a full-time Drywall Manager / Specialist who actually knows the craft—not someone learning on our jobs. This role is hands-on and skill-driven. If you can hang, tape, texture, and match existing textures like they were never touched, keep reading.
Our bread and butter is mitigation and restoration work, not new construction. That means you’ll be working in existing, occupied homes where precision, respect, and cleanliness matter. Your skills will be tested and assessed before any offer is made.
This is a key role in our company. If drywall is done poorly or incorrectly, it disrupts the entire flow—paint, base, and finish work all depend on it. We’re looking for someone who understands that responsibility and takes ownership of it.
What you’ll be responsible for
- Being in charge of all drywall work assigned to you
- Receiving your tasks and materials for the week and executing them without someone over your shoulder
- Hanging drywall cleanly and efficiently
- Taping and finishing at a professional level
- Applying and matching existing textures (non-negotiable)
- Working confidently in existing, occupied homes
- Leaving jobsites clean—every time
- Communicating clearly with the owner on:
- Job progress
- Schedule updates
- Issues, delays, or needed adjustments
Customers are often still living in their homes. They don’t want to live in drywall dust and mud—and we don’t expect them to.
Clean jobsite expectations
Cleanliness is a must. We expect our crew to:
- Protect the home
- Control dust as much as possible
- Clean up daily and at job completion
We hold higher standards—and we compensate for higher standards.
Organization & communication matter
This role requires someone who is:
- Organized
- Proactive
- A strong communicator
You’ll be expected to manage your work, communicate clearly, and keep projects moving so the rest of the crew can do their jobs without delays.
Growth & leadership path
- You’ll start by completing drywall jobs independently
- As you prove your skill, reliability, organization, and communication, you’ll be given employees
- You’ll be responsible for managing, watching, and training those employees
- Once you reach this level, you’ll be at the maximum hourly rate
- From there, you’ll earn performance bonuses for completing jobs efficiently without sacrificing quality
Requirements
- Bilingual (English & Spanish)
- Proven experience hanging, taping, texturing, and matching textures
- Ability to work independently without micromanagement
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Comfortable working in existing homes
Nice-to-haves (not required, but big pluses)
- Truck capable of moving a trailer as needed
- Your own drywall tools
- Experience with mitigation or restoration companies
What we offer
- Full-time, consistent work
- Competitive pay with a clear growth ceiling
- Performance bonuses
- Paid holidays
- Company dinners, parties, and team events
- A laid-back, down-to-earth crew that jokes, laughs, and enjoys working together
We’re relaxed—but we’re not sloppy. We don’t screw around, and we get the job done. We believe in taking care of our employees as much as we can because good people are hard to find and worth keeping.
