The role owns the design, implementation, and scaling of core backend services powering high-throughput distributed systems.
The engineering team builds robust APIs, optimizes data stores, and ensures high availability for mission-critical user-facing applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable RESTful and GraphQL APIs using Node.js, Python, or Go for production microservices
- Optimize database queries, schema designs, and caching layers utilizing PostgreSQL, Redis, and DynamoDB
- Implement containerized deployments and manage cloud infrastructure using Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS
- Monitor system health, latency, and error rates through observability platforms like Datadog and Prometheus
- Participate in rigorous code reviews, architecture discussions, and engineering best practices definition
- 3–6 years of professional backend software engineering experience with large-scale distributed systems
- Proficiency in at least two backend programming languages such as Go, Python, or TypeScript/Node.js
- Demonstrated experience with relational and NoSQL databases, message brokers like Kafka or RabbitMQ, and cloud environments
- Solid understanding of software design patterns, concurrency, distributed consensus, and API security
- Bonus: Experience with event-driven architectures, service mesh technologies, or GraphQL federation
