Job description:Job SummaryWe are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals to provide high-quality care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, aging needs, or health challenges. This vital role involves assisting residents with daily activities, ensuring their safety, and promoting independence within a supportive environment. The ideal candidate will be committed to enhancing the quality of life for those they serve and possess a genuine desire to make a positive impact in the community.DutiesAssist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility supportMonitor and observe patient conditions, including vital signs and behavioral changesProvide medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulationsSupport residents during meal preparation, feeding, and nutritional needsOperate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts and ensure proper safety protocols are followedMaintain a clean and safe environment through light cleaning and sanitation practicesImplement individualized care plans tailored to each resident’s needs, including dementia, Alzheimer's, autism, or other disabilitiesEngage residents in social activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-beingDocument observations accurately in compliance with healthcare standards and regulationsCollaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and family members to coordinate careQualificationsPrior experience in group homes, assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care preferredKnowledge of patient care procedures including first aid, CPR, medication administration, and vital signs monitoringExperience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia, or memory care needs is highly desirableAbility to perform heavy lifting when necessary and assist with transfers using Hoyer lifts or similar equipmentStrong observational skills for patient monitoring and safety oversightCompassionate attitude with excellent communication skills and patience when working with diverse populationsFamiliarity with HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards in healthcare settingsPrior caregiving experience in hospice care or home health is a plusAbility to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environmentThis role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring dedicated support.
