Driver

Background

ECHO is seeking part-time/on-call Drivers to join our passionate team of professionals. We are currently looking for positive, caring team members to join our Transportation staff providing transportation for our participants in split shifts, Monday through Friday, during our morning run 6:30AM to 9:30AM. 

The mission of ECHO is to empower individuals with disabilities to achieve their optimal level of personal, social and economic success. We provide skill building, job placement, day support and transportation. Our services empower individuals to be active members of the community.

Job Duties

• Embrace and support ECHO’s core values:  Enthusiasm, Trust, Integrity, Compassion, Respect, Innovation and Courage.
• Assist persons with disabilities on/off the vehicle as necessary
• Complete daily vehicle control information forms
• Report program participant incidents
• Participate in in-service training to satisfy agency requirements
• Bilingual abilities a plus

Minimum Position Requirements

• Experience in vocational and/or day support training of persons with disabilities is desired but not required
• Must possess valid driver’s license and driving record meeting insurance requirements

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing duties of this job, the employee is required to talk, hear, type, push a wheelchair with rider, lift up to 50 pounds, and support persons with challenging behaviors, which can be physical.  

Background, Reference Checks and Drug Screening

Any offer of employment will be contingent upon successful completion of drug/alcohol screening, criminal background check, and education, employment, driving record, and reference checks. ECHO is a drug-free workplace. Getting fingerprints done and taking a drug and alcohol test off-site at hire is required. Additionally, random drug tests could potentially require a repeat off-site drug test one or more times throughout the length of employment.
