Day Support Specialist

URGENTLY HIRING:  $750.00 Signing Bonus payable $200.00 @ 60 days; $200.00 @ 90 days; $350.00 @ 120 days. 

Background

ECHO is seeking Day Support Specialists to join our LIFE Program staff to provide supervision and care for our participants to include comprehensive, individualized services. 

The mission of ECHO is to empower individuals with disabilities to achieve their optimal level of personal, social and economic success. ECHO is a nonprofit that offers lifelong support for adults with disabilities. We provide skill building, job placement, day support and transportation. Our services empower individuals to be active members of the community.

Job Duties

• Provide supervision and care for the participants
• Contribute to the development and implementation of activities
• Engage participants in a variety of activities and community engagement based on the participants desires and abilities.
• Provide personal care including toileting, changing diapers, etc.
• Assist some participants with walking with gait belt
• Follow appropriate seizure protocols
• Understand and implement person-centered individual service plans
• Maintain up-to-date documentation

Minimum Position Requirements

• Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and/or directly related work experience
• Experience in vocational and/or day support training of persons with disabilities
• Must possess valid driver’s license and driving record meeting insurance requirements
• Successful completion of drug/alcohol screening and a background check to include fingerprinting

Physical Demands

• The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing duties of this job, the employee is required to talk, hear, type, push a wheelchair with rider, lift up to 50 pounds, and support persons with challenging behaviors, which can be physical.
