SUMMARY Teaches elementary and secondary school subjects in specialized facility to students with problems in learning.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES including the following. Other duties may be assigned. -Plans and prepared lessons and other instructional materials to meet individual need of students, considering state and school requirements, physical, emotional and educational levels of development. -Works with students to provide consistent reinforcement to learning, continuous assessment of level of functioning and continuous feedback to student for all learning activities. -Teaches a class or classes of children who are LD or BD or both and who are not able to function in traditional school programs off campus. -Will work as a member of the treatment team to promote the growth of the children. -Will maintain discipline in the classroom. -Will keep adequate records. -Submits necessary reports to the Educational Director. -Must have a genuine concern for troubles children and their families and have a desire to work in an organization dedicated to Christian ideals and principles. - Responsible for being trauma aware, sensitive, and responsive to youth, families and colleagues through the completion of new hire and annual trauma informed education and training.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of children or employees of organization.

REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables institutions where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS -Must be certified K through 12 in LD/BD.
