Lathe Operator

We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Lathe Operator to join our manufacturing team. This hands-on role involves operating manual and CNC lathes to turn, face, center, and finish large metal rolls and components to precise specifications. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, manual machining experience, and the ability to work efficiently in a heavy industrial environment while maintaining a high commitment to safety and quality standards.Job Type: Full-timePay: $24/hr - $27/hrWhat We Offer:Full-time position with overtime available100% company-paid benefitsHands-on training and opportunities to grow your machining skillsKey Responsibilities:Operate manual and CNC lathes for turning, facing, centering, and finishing cuts on metal rolls and componentsSafely use overhead and jib cranes to set rolls and remove chip boxes, hooking up chains while squatting without manual liftingMeasure components accurately with micrometers and calipers; read and interpret blueprints to verify dimensions and ensure qualityMonitor machine operations to maintain tight tolerances and final finishes on necks and barrelsUse hand tools, cranks, and wrenches to lock/unlock rolls and adjust componentsConduct visual inspections for defects or deviationsComplete accurate production documentation for materials used and time spent per jobCollaborate with team members, engineers, and supervisors to meet production goals and support process improvementsAdhere to all safety guidelines and report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns promptlyQualifications:Must be 18 years of age or olderMinimum 2 years of manual lathe operation experience required; CNC lathe experience strongly preferredExperience working with large industrial lathes in a manufacturing environmentStrong understanding of machining principles, measurement units, and blueprint readingProficient in using hand tools, wrenches, cranks, and specialized chip pushing toolsComfortable performing repetitive tasks and lifting up to 50 lbs frequentlyAbility to perform frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and lifting throughout the shiftExcellent communication skills for documenting work and reporting issuesStrong attention to detail, safety, and quality standardsReady to apply?
