School Nursing Supervisor

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor to provide part-time/per diem coverage in support of a school nursing program across NYC public schools. This is an independent contractor role (1099) focused on quality assurance and clinical oversight to ensure program compliance with NYC DOE standards.

The RN Supervisor will conduct site visits, orientations, and clinical support activities, playing a vital role in maintaining excellence in school nursing services.

Compensation:

$100 per hour

Requirements:

• Active RN license issued by the State of New York
• Minimum 5 years of RN experience
• At least 2 years of NYC DOE school nursing experience (mandatory)
• Current CPR and First Aid certification (mandatory)
• Experience with diabetes management
• Ability to travel to Bronx and Upper Manhattan for site visits (a few times per month)
• Strong ability to work independently with sound clinical judgment and interpersonal skills
  
  
  

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct weekly site visits in the Bronx and Upper Manhattan
• Perform new nurse orientations and re-trainings, including DOE-required sessions as provided by our client
• Serve as a liaison between school nurses, program staff, and DOE representatives to resolve clinical issues promptly
• Assess skills and readiness of incoming nurses during interviews and onboarding
• Monitor clinical performance in the field, including diabetes management and chronic condition care
• Maintain compliance with NYC DOE and NYS health guidelines, documentation standards, and quality measures
• Attend NYC Nursing Supervisor in-services as required
• Communicate regularly with the Program Director and senior client representatives
