Position Summary
The HVAC Service Manager is responsible for leading and growing the HVAC Service Department through strong leadership, exceptional customer service, and a sales-driven approach. This position oversees service technicians, manages daily operations, builds customer relationships, and drives service revenue while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader and team player who leads by example, supports their technicians in the field when needed, and is committed to developing a high-performing service department.
Responsibilities
· Lead, coach, and develop HVAC Service Technicians.
· Foster a positive, accountable, and team-oriented work environment.
· Schedule and coordinate daily service operations and technician assignments.
· Assist technicians in the field when necessary and lead by example.
· Drive department growth through proactive sales and customer relationship management.
· Identify opportunities for maintenance agreements, repairs, replacements, and additional services.
· Prepare estimates and proposals for service work.
· Monitor department performance, productivity, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
· Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally.
· Maintain service records, equipment, and inventory.
· Enforce company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
· Ensure technicians maintain required certifications and training.
Requirements
· Minimum of 5 years of HVAC service experience.
· Proven sales experience with the ability to grow service revenue.
· Strong knowledge of commercial and/or industrial HVAC systems.
· Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
· Sales-driven mindset with a strong focus on customer service.
· Team player willing to work alongside the crew when needed.
· EPA Section 608 Certification required.
· Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
· Ability to perform the physical demands of the position, including lifting up to 50 pounds, walking job sites, climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, working in varying weather conditions, and sitting or standing for extended periods.
Preferred Experience
Previous supervisory or management experience.
Experience managing commercial and/or industrial HVAC service operations.
Experience preparing estimates, proposals, and maintenance agreements.
Experience with service management software and Microsoft Office.
