The Vice President of Agent Distribution is responsible for building, recruiting, developing, and leading a high-performing network of independent Medicare insurance agents. This role will create and execute the company's field distribution strategy, establish recruiting and training systems, drive agent production, and develop long-term relationships with independent agents, agencies, and field marketing organizations (FMOs).
The ideal candidate possesses deep Medicare industry expertise, extensive experience recruiting and managing independent agents, and a proven track record of growing Medicare sales organizations through leadership, coaching, and strategic partnerships.
Key ResponsibilitiesAgent Recruitment & Expansion- Develop and execute a national recruiting strategy for independent Medicare agents.
- Identify, recruit, onboard, and retain high-producing agents and agency partners.
- Build relationships with FMOs, agencies, and other distribution partners.
- Establish referral and recruiting programs to accelerate growth.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities.
- Design and implement comprehensive onboarding programs for new agents.
- Develop Medicare sales training, product education, and compliance training programs.
- Conduct individual and group coaching sessions.
- Create field development strategies to improve agent performance and retention.
- Ensure agents remain informed on carrier updates, CMS regulations, and market changes.
- Establish production goals and performance expectations.
- Monitor agent performance metrics and provide ongoing coaching.
- Develop sales strategies that drive growth in Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement, PDP, and ancillary products.
- Identify market opportunities and expansion initiatives.
- Create accountability systems that support consistent production.
- Build and execute the company's long-term field distribution strategy.
- Evaluate and expand distribution channels.
- Develop strategic partnerships that increase market reach.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to establish growth objectives and forecasting models.
- Provide recommendations regarding carrier relationships and market opportunities.
- Ensure all field activities align with CMS regulations and company compliance standards.
- Partner with Compliance and Operations teams to maintain quality standards.
- Promote ethical sales practices and customer-first service.
- Monitor agent quality and retention metrics.
- 5 years of Medicare sales leadership experience.
- 3 years recruiting and managing independent/1099 Medicare agents.
- Demonstrated success building Medicare distribution channels.
- Deep understanding of Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement, PDP, and ancillary products.
- Strong knowledge of CMS regulations and Medicare compliance requirements.
- Proven leadership, coaching, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to travel as needed for recruiting, training, and industry events.
- Existing network of Medicare agents, agencies, and FMOs.
- Experience scaling a national or multi-state Medicare sales organization.
- Experience launching new markets or distribution channels.

Base Salary: $120,000–$160,000
Bonus/Commission:
