Role Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned real estate professional to lead the full lifecycle of multifamily development investments, in opportunities located in Utah and the Mountain West. It is anticipated that the candidate will work initially on sourcing opportunities for an attainable multifamily strategy. This individual will be responsible for sourcing, underwriting, creating and executing business plans, and overseeing due diligence, development, and asset management. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of structuring investments and driving a team to produce successful outcomes. 

Responsibilities:

Deal Sourcing & Underwriting

  • Identify and evaluate multifamily and hospitality development opportunities through broker relationships, direct outreach, and market intelligence.
  • Build and maintain financial models to assess investment viability and risk.
  • Prepare and present investment memoranda to the investment committee.

Due Diligence & Closing

  • Lead all aspects of due diligence including third-party reports, entitlements, and legal documentation.
  • Negotiate purchase agreements and coordinate equity and debt closings.

Business Plan Creation & Execution

  • Develop strategic business plans outlining market opportunity, scope, operational metrics, and financial targets.
  • Oversee execution of business plans including construction coordination and operational transitions.

Asset Management

  • Monitor asset performance and ensure alignment with business plan objectives.
  • Collaborate with property management teams to optimize operations and drive value.

Reporting & Investor Relations

  • Assist with preparation of quarterly and annual investor reports.
  • Participate in investor meetings and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, or a related field; MBA preferred. 

Experience:

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience with at least 2 years in a senior or VP role in multifamily real estate; experience must include acquisitions, development, and asset management. 
  • Demonstrated success in sourcing and executing multifamily deals.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Technical Skills:
  1. Advanced proficiency in Excel for financial modeling and underwriting.
  2. Proficiency in PowerPoint for creating high-quality investment materials.
  3. Familiarity with data sources and tools for market research and analysis.
    • Analytical Abilities: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights. Experience in conducting sensitivity analysis, buy-sell analysis, and other key investment analyses.
    • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and compelling manner to internal and external stakeholders.
    • Leadership & Mentorship: Demonstrated ability to lead effectively within a team environment, with a collaborative mindset and a commitment to mentoring junior team members.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to tolerate prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing at desk.
  • Must be able to operate a computer, telephone, and/or keyboard and tolerate prolonged periods performing work using a computer, telephone, and/or keyboard.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to travel.

Compensation:

Competitive salary and benefits package, commensurate with experience, including performance-based incentives.
