Transportation & Logistics Billing Specialist
Position Summary
Responsible for the timely and accurate invoicing of clients.
The Billing Specialist will work in a team environment alongside the Dispatch, Warehouse, Sales, Operations and Finance department. Each day the Biller will be responsible for processing and billing various clients invoices. The Biller will be responsible for auditing\verifying paperwork and will have a full understanding of customer billing requirements, invoicing procedures and company software.
He or she will gain a comprehensive understanding of Companies billing software.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Process clients billing accurately via the Company billing software
Submit client invoices daily via e-mail, mail and web billing
Ensure all proper documentation is received to properly invoice clients
Knowledge of client billing rates for the various services provided
Communicate with clients regarding billing concerns and provide back-up in a timely manner
Work directly with Dispatch, Warehouse, Sales, Operations and Finance to resolve any billing questions or concerns
Respond to all internal and client inquiries in a timely manner
Crosstrain team members to support department during a team member absence
Perform other A/R and administrative duties as assigned by Supervisor
Requirements
3 years of billing experience
Prior experience in freight transportation or logistics environment preferred
Detail oriented, accurate and has excellent organizational and analytical skills
Strong time management skills to ensure all billing is completed in a timely manner
Working knowledge of MS Office including Word, Outlook, and Excel
Self-motivated, reliable and takes ownership and accountability for their work
Ability to work individually as well as with a team environment
Must possess a sense of urgency and dedication to meet all deadlines
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Understanding of accounting software such as QuickBooks a plus
Previous background knowledge of trucking industry a plus
Work hours &Environment
Normal working hours for this position are Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, however, overtime may often be required from time to time.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to $25.00 per hour
