Mechanical Project Sales Representative

Full-Time | Commercial & Industrial Mechanical Services


A well-established leading mechanical contractor is seeking a motivated Project Sales Representative to drive business development and deliver turnkey HVAC and plumbing retrofit solutions across commercial and industrial markets. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong technical knowledge with relationship-building and consultative sales skills.


The ideal candidate will be experienced in estimating, proposal development, customer management, and identifying energy-efficient mechanical solutions that create long-term value for clients.


Key Responsibilities:


Mechanical & Systems Expertise -

  • Maintain strong working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems and how they function together
  • Evaluate existing systems, identify deficiencies, and recommend repair, retrofit, or replacement solutions
  • Interpret drawings, specifications, and jobsite conditions accurately
  • Understand lifecycle costs associated with operating and maintaining facility systems
  • Develop solutions that improve performance while reducing long-term operating expenses


Estimating & Proposal Development -

  • Review project plans and specifications to define project scope and requirements
  • Estimate labor, materials, timelines, and overall project costs accurately
  • Prepare detailed, professional proposals for both new and existing clients
  • Maintain organized documentation of customer interactions, supplier communication, and project activity
  • Develop customized design-build solutions tailored to client needs


Sales & Business Development -

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within targeted markets
  • Deliver presentations and confidently address customer questions and objections
  • Build strong relationships by understanding each client’s operational and financial goals
  • Maintain a healthy pipeline of opportunities and follow up consistently on leads and referrals
  • Achieve sales and booking goals through strategic account management


Customer Relationship Management -

  • Respond promptly to customer concerns and provide effective solutions
  • Build long-term relationships with clients, vendors, and industry partners
  • Represent the company professionally while balancing customer satisfaction and profitability


Organization & Planning -

  • Manage schedules, quotes, and opportunities efficiently to maximize productivity
  • Prioritize sales activities and maintain momentum on active projects and proposals


Qualifications -

  • Associate degree in Construction Sciences, HVAC, or related field preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technical Studies, or related discipline is a plus
  • 4 years of experience with HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems
  • 4 years of customer-facing sales or account management experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to explain energy-saving solutions and operational cost benefits
  • Experience preparing financial justifications and energy savings analyses preferred
  • Industrial refrigeration experience is a plus


Compensation & Benefits -

  • Competitive base salary: $70,971 – $95,956 annually Uncapped commission

Salary : $70,000 - $100,000
