Nature of Work
Under the direction of the Recreation Coordinator - Athletics, the Sports Camp Program Aid is responsible for teaching and supervising children in the Sports Camps offered by the District.
Essential Functions
- Supervise daily camp activities and aid in the instruction of specialized activities such as flag football, soccer, baseball, lacrosse, Frisbee, golf, and cheerleading.
- Monitor children by taking name and number count.
- Report accidents and injuries that occur in camp. Provide first aid as needed.
- Clean up activity area at the end of shift.
- Report absenteeism and arrange for substitution.
- Attend orientation and scheduled staff meetings.
- Report any problem situations to the Athletics Coordinator
- Dress appropriately for camp activities.
- Possess a highly defined focus towards both internal and external guest service.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Thorough knowledge of modern principles, methods, practices and equipment relating to the functional areas of responsibility.

- Thorough knowledge of issues relating to and pertaining to children.
- Knowledge of District policies and procedures.
Abilities
- Ability to demonstrate activities.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, parents, the general public, community agencies, and civic organizations.
Required Training, Experience & Qualifications
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Children’s Program Aids who are under 18 years of age must work directly under the supervision of the program director or program leaders.
- Must demonstrate ability to work with children.
- Current CPR and First Aid Certifications.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
