- Manage daily classroom activities with effective behavior management strategies to promote positive interactions and discipline.
- Conduct child development assessments to tailor instruction and support individual learning needs, including those requiring special education or early intervention services.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians to share progress updates, discuss concerns, and collaborate on supporting each child's growth.
- Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and maintain accurate documentation of child welfare incidents or concerns.
- Incorporate best practices in childhood development instruction and classroom management to foster a safe and inclusive space for all children.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in a preschool or daycare setting is essential; classroom experience is highly valued.
- Knowledge of curriculum development, lesson planning, and standardized testing relevant to early childhood education.
- Familiarity with special education techniques, early intervention strategies, and behavior management methods.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional credentials in childhood development or early childhood education are preferred.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners.
- Demonstrated understanding of child welfare laws and mandated reporting requirements.
- Experience teaching physical education or literacy education is a plus; familiarity with classroom management tools is advantageous.
