Title: CAD Technician 2

Location: Vancouver, WA (Hybrid)

Duration: 12-month Contract (with possible extensions up to 5 years)

Pay Range: $39.13 - $44.25 per hour

***Candidates must be willing to work on our W-2. Due to federal contract requirements, only U.S. Citizens can be considered for this position. Also this role requires you to work onsite 3 days per 2 weeks at Vancouver, WA and rest of the week you can work remotely.**

• Provide onsite drawing support for the subject organization's design packages.
• The contract worker will be expected to:
• Provide quality design, layout, and production of engineering, civil, architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, electronic and/or fiber optic drawings.
• Perform necessary research using existing facility, standards, plan & profile, hardware, civil, and survey drawings.
• Assist in pre-engineering calculations and research in order to control product reliability and accuracy for engineering, technical, and commercial applications.

Position Responsibilities:

• Produce drawings using computer-aided drafting equipment or conventional drafting stations, technical handbooks, tables, calculators, and traditional drafting tools, such as boards, pencils, protractors, and T-squares.
• Consult with engineering staff and other personnel to discuss and interpret design concepts, determine requirements of detailed working drawings and resolve problems.
• Review rough sketches, drawings, specifications, and other engineering data received from engineers to ensure that they conform to design concepts.
• Draft plans and detailed drawings for structures, installations, and construction projects, working drawings, wiring diagrams, charts, forms and records based on preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specification sheets and other data.
• Draw master sketches to scale showing relation of proposed installations to existing facilities and exact specifications and dimensions.
• Coordinate structural, electrical and mechanical designs and determine a method of presentation to graphically represent construction plans.
• Measure factors that affect installation and arrangement of equipment, such as distances to be spanned by wire and cable.
• Assemble documentation packages and produce drawing sets which are checked by an engineer or an architect.
• Review completed construction drawings for accuracy and conformity to standards and regulations.
• Determine quantity of required materials and enter figures on materials lists.
• Obtain and assemble data to complete designs, visiting job sites to compile measurements as necessary.
• Locate files relating to specified design project in database library, load program into computer, and record completed job data.
• Examine electronic schematics and supporting documents to develop, compute, and verify specifications for drafting data, such as configuration of parts, dimensions, and tolerances.

Position Requirements:

Education & Corresponding Experience

• High school diploma or GED is required
• Associate's degree or higher in a technical CAD training program is preferred
• 4 years of civil, structural, or electrical CAD drafting experience is required.

Required Technical Skills & Experience

• Knowledge and certified training or experience in MicroStation or AutoCAD is required.
• Working knowledge of MS Office to include Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word is required. .

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and to complete the assigned tasks with accuracy in a timely manner.
• Demonstrated ability to perform mathematical computations related to algebra and trigonometry, work on many concurrent activities, and perform engineering design using the CAD system in a multi-disciplined production environment.
• Carry out assigned tasks with a professional demeanor reflected in excellent written and oral communication skills, listening skills, patience, analytical reasoning, and problem-solving abilities.
• Meet timelines, milestones, and deliverables and provide weekly status updates if requested..
