We are a senior living management company partnering with REITs and owners to build and operate communities across the East Coast. As our portfolio continues to evolve, we’re looking for a Controller who brings strong accounting fundamentals, sound judgment, and a hands-on mindset.
This role is ideal for a Controller (or seasoned accounting leader) who enjoys being close to the work, values accuracy and integrity, and wants to contribute meaningfully to a growing organization without layers of bureaucracy or large teams.
What You’ll Do
- Own month-end close and financial reporting across multiple entities
- Prepare and review GAAP-compliant financial statements
- Partner with the CFO on budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and working capital
- Ensure appropriate capitalization, depreciation, and expense treatment
- Support audits, tax filings, and REIT reporting requests
- Improve accounting processes, documentation, and consistency
- Collaborate closely with the Senior Property Accountant in a lean environment
What We’re Looking For
- 7 years of progressive accounting experience
- Prior experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller required
- Strong GAAP and accrual accounting background
- Experience in multi-entity, property management, or similar environments
- Comfortable working independently and making judgment calls
- Strong analytical and Excel skills
- REIT or SOX exposure is a plus (not required)
