Position Summary:
The primary function of this role is to be a team player within the Materials Management and Engineering departments. This position is largely responsible for data integrity within the ERP system, maintaining item numbers and administrating bills of material. Included with this responsibility is the daily evaluation of incoming sales orders, engineering output and material input into the ERP system, as well as departmental projects as assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Update and maintain item master database, bill of materials, and routing functions.
· Prepare bill of materials for new products and coordinate bill of materials and routing information between departments.
· Release engineering to production as directed.
· Work with Managers and Supervisors to validate labor routings and complete time studies.
· Perform system maintenance on part numbers, descriptions, and material standardization.
· Champion and monitor item number creation, verifying correct descriptions, item class, commodity, revenue codes, etc.
· Review and code parts with proper planning parameters and cost technique codes.
· Review incoming sales orders for required information, lead times and sales price accuracy.
· Process Engineering Change Notices (ECN) and/or drawings and distribute as directed.
· Work with Engineering and Materials to standardize parts.
· Assign projects to responsible parties daily.
· Monitor releases that affect Production and Engineering daily.
· Review changes to releases daily.
· Provide backup within the Materials Department as required.
· Other Duties as assigned.
Educational Requirements / Experience:
· High School Diploma required.
· Minimum of 3 years of job-related experience in manufacturing.
· Must be able to read blueprints and build a BOM.
· Prior experience in ERP systems preferred.
· Must be PC literate and proficient in the use of Microsoft applications.
· Strong organizational and planning skills required.
· Critical and creative thinking skills.
· Strong problem-solving abilities.
· Motivated and able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
· Detail oriented self-starter.
