Role Description The Event Cleaner role is a full-time, on-site position based in Chicago, IL. Day-to-day responsibilities include setting up cleaning supplies and equipment, performing pre-event cleaning of floors, restrooms, and common areas, and maintaining cleanliness throughout the event by managing trash, spills, and high-traffic areas. After events, the cleaner is responsible for comprehensive post-event clean-up, including trash removal, sweeping, mopping, surface disinfecting, and resetting spaces as needed. The role involves following safety procedures, working closely with supervisors and event staff, and adhering to venue-specific guidelines and schedules. This position requires consistent attendance, the ability to stand and walk for extended periods, and the flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event schedules.
Qualifications

• Prior experience in cleaning, janitorial work, or facility maintenance in event, commercial, or hospitality settings is beneficial.
• Ability to safely use cleaning tools, chemicals, and equipment, and follow health, safety, and sanitation procedures.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability, and time management skills to meet event timelines and standards.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with supervisors, venue staff, and other cleaners.
• Physical ability to lift moderate weights, stand and walk for long periods, bend, and perform repetitive tasks.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on event schedules.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; willingness to complete on-the-job training required.
