Role Description The Procurement Buyer is a full-time, on-site role based in Edwardsville, KS. This role is responsible for managing end-to-end purchasing activities, including sourcing suppliers, requesting and evaluating quotes, and issuing purchase orders for materials, equipment, and services related to cooling tower projects. The Procurement Buyer will monitor inventory levels, track order status, and coordinate delivery schedules to meet project timelines and cost targets. Daily responsibilities include reviewing purchase requirements, maintaining accurate procurement records, resolving discrepancies with vendors, and collaborating closely with engineering, project management, and operations teams. The role also involves analyzing pricing and contract terms, supporting continuous improvement of purchasing processes, and ensuring adherence to company policies and quality standards.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of purchasing processes and experience managing purchasing activities from requisition through order fulfillment.
- Proficiency in preparing, reviewing, and tracking purchase orders, with attention to accuracy and compliance.
- Solid analytical skills to compare supplier proposals, evaluate cost and value, and support data-driven purchasing decisions.
- Effective communication skills for negotiating with suppliers and collaborating with internal stakeholders.
- Foundational experience in purchasing within construction, manufacturing, or industrial environments is preferred but not required.
- Ability to use ERP or procurement software and standard office applications (e.g., Excel, Outlook) to manage purchasing data.
- Strong organizational skills, detail orientation, and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Understanding of basic contract terms, vendor management practices, and cost-control principles is beneficial.
