Position Summary
The Accounting Manager oversees the day-to-day accounting operations of the organization to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. This role manages and coaches the accounting team, coordinates month-end and year-end close processes, and supports management with financial reporting, budgeting, and audit preparation. The Accounting Manager also plays a key role in improving accounting systems, internal controls, and processes to enhance efficiency and financial integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with GAAP and company policies and procedures.
- Compile and analyze financial information to prepare monthly financial statements.
- Perform month-end and year-end closings with accurate and timely journal entries and reconciliations, including reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
- Prepare monthly commissions and financial management reports for EvapTech Inc.
- Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP and internal reporting standards.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes by providing accurate financial data and variance analysis.
- Ensure revenue recognition is consistent with company policy and GAAP standards.
- Support the preparation and compilation of annual U.S. audit information, while managing and responding to company audit processes and external inquiries for EvapTech Inc.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of accounting control procedures, while identifying opportunities to automate processes that enhance efficiency without compromising accuracy or accountability.
- Manage, train, and mentor accounting staff, promoting professional development and accountability.
- Collaborate with EvapTech management and other departments to provide financial insight and support decision-making.
- Oversee and coordinate financial activities across international locations, ensuring accurate account reconciliation and compliance with corporate standards.
- Contribute to the planning, testing, and execution of the ERP system implementation to improve process efficiency and data integrity.
- Participate in special projects as needed, providing analytical and operational support.
- Continuously advance professional expertise through education, research, and active engagement with industry networks and organizations.
- Partner with business leaders to drive operation and financial performance.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting. (CPA preferred)
- Experience: 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Understanding and experience with ASC 606 Revenue Recognition
- Proficiency in accounting and ERP software (e.g., Jobscope, Tagetik, or equivalent).
- Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong leadership and communication abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Analytical and problem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
