- Answer telephone calls, respond to routine inquiries, take messages, and direct calls to the appropriate staff member.
- Receive, sort, and distribute mail and correspondence for the counseling department.
- Register new students and coordinate the request, receipt, and processing of student records from previous schools.
- Maintain accurate student demographic information and update student records in the student information system.
- Schedule appointments and maintain calendars for school counselors.
- Coordinate the processing of college applications, transcript requests, and other post-secondary documentation.
- Prepare, type, proofread, and distribute correspondence, reports, records, and other documents related to counseling services.
- Maintain accurate, confidential student records in accordance with corporation policies and applicable state and federal regulations.
- Ensure the release of students only to authorized parents, guardians, or other approved individuals in accordance with corporation policies and legal requirements.
- Assist with graduation preparation by compiling reports, verifying student information, and preparing materials necessary for graduation activities.
- Cross-train with school office secretaries and provide administrative support and office coverage as needed.
- Participate in professional development and in-service training opportunities to enhance job knowledge and skills.
- Maintain regular attendance.
- Ability to operate personal computers and related software including EVSC's student software system, Microsoft and Google systems.

Position Details:
This non-exempt position works 191 days per year. It is scheduled 5 days per week at 8 hours per day. During the school year, the position follows the approved calendar for holidays and work days.

SUMMARY:
Provide administrative and clerical support to the high school counseling department by maintaining student records, coordinating counseling office operations, assisting students and families, and ensuring accurate and efficient processing of student information.
