Role Description The Senior Superintendent is a full-time, on-site role based in Denver, CO, responsible for overseeing all field operations on complex construction projects from mobilization through closeout. This role coordinates daily activities for subcontractors and field staff, ensures work is performed safely and in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements, and monitors quality standards and adherence to project specifications. The Senior Superintendent manages project schedules, sequencing, and logistics, proactively resolving field issues to maintain milestones and budget objectives. This position collaborates closely with project managers, engineers, and clients, leading site meetings, maintaining detailed project documentation, and communicating progress and risks. The Senior Superintendent also mentors junior field personnel, promotes a strong safety culture, and supports continuous improvement in construction means, methods, and productivity.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience supervising commercial or industrial construction projects as a Superintendent or Senior Superintendent, preferably in manufacturing, life sciences, advanced technology, or mission-critical facilities.
- Proficiency in construction scheduling, site logistics, and coordination of subcontractors and self-perform crews, with strong field problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Solid understanding of construction means and methods, building codes, safety regulations, and quality control practices, with a demonstrated commitment to jobsite safety.
- Experience working with project management software, digital plan review tools, and familiarity with VDC/BIM processes and collaboration.
- Effective communication and leadership skills, including the ability to lead site meetings, coordinate with owners and design teams, and mentor field staff.
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and technical documents, and to maintain accurate daily reports and project documentation.
- OSHA safety training or equivalent certifications; additional safety-related credentials are highly beneficial.
- High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Willingness and ability to work on-site full-time in Denver, CO, with flexibility for varying site conditions and project schedules.
